Brief notes for named or recurring supporting characters not central enough for characters.md. Earth-side cast remains the main body; the current Merrowford sections own post-Ch.214 people introduced in Ch.420-432. Kanno Emi has been promoted and is retained here only as a routing pointer.

University / Existing Earth Continuity

Matsuda Male university-era acquaintance who becomes a present-day friend, more naturally aligned with Thomas, without requiring remembered closeness. He completes the written eighteen-month Tokyo transfer move into a small Shinagawa company flat and builds a real temporary life rather than waiting in storage. Ch.297 shows him hosting the couple during Thomas's Tokyo birthday/Kameido-Shin-Kiba visit. In Ch.362 he accepts the small 30 October wedding invitation; on 13 October 2027 he meets Thomas/Isha after their embassy appointments and signs the second witness box on their marriage notification (Kanno signed the first). He attends the 30 October ceremony, stays overnight in Sendai and joins the 31 October breakfast before returning to Tokyo. On 20 February 2028 Thomas visits him in Tokyo for the day and eventually asks for bounded professional guidance on Isha's large natural gold specimen. Matsuda says explicitly that he is not procurement, but much of his Tokyo project work uses outside suppliers and he spends enough time with procurement/technical staff to understand supplier-vetting questions. He offers to ask one work contact which independent materials-testing firms they would trust for a project shortlist and whether any accept private clients; he refuses the idea of putting a friend's material through a corporate supplier relationship. On 22 February 2028 that contact returns two plausible routes, Isha chooses the specimen-focused firm, and Matsuda's referral role is complete; the selected route later produces Morishita's 29 March examination and 13 April report without Matsuda becoming a gold specialist or continuing intermediary. He knows the specimen's approximate size, assay/sale/document trail and provenance gap but none of its supernatural origin. He still knows none of Daniel, Green Road, Cleanse, transfer, the System or Ian. Exact profession/technical speciality remains unestablished through Ch.440.
Kanno Emi Promoted to characters.md as main Earth-side cast. Her birthday is 17 April; exact age/year remain open. By Ch.440 Small Works is complete; she has independently met Ian, travelled to Berlin/Venus, photographed Mercury alone, joined the four-woman meeting and photographed Aelira under bounded consent. Use characters.md and knowledge_boundaries.md; she remains outside passage operations and Thomas/Isha's romance.
Former Seminar Adviser Unnamed male former adviser connected to the supplied graduate history. Sends job listings and advises them not to hurry (Ch.215, Ch.218); gives a short welcome at the alumni gathering as a broad-shouldered man with thinning hair and a lecture-hall voice, acknowledging Thomas and Isha's uncertain attendance without making them explain themselves publicly (Ch.224). Department and private relationship remain unestablished.
Kuroda Female archery-club contact who knew recorded-life Isha at the range, occasional club meals and equipment-help level rather than as an intimate friend. A little shorter than Thomas, dark hair tied back, canvas equipment bag. Invites Isha to a quiet early range session, preserves safety authority without pressure, lends a light club bow, teaches sight adjustment and supports a careful return without forcing remembered familiarity (Ch.216-217).
Mori Female staff member in the university international-support office; practical, observant and willing to correct over-explanation or misplaced apology without humiliating Thomas. She reviews his student-support cases and redistributes work after medical leave. In Ch.308 she supports a winter-arrival guide built around ownership; by Ch.350 she attends the cross-department arrival working group and explicitly warns newly regular Thomas not to volunteer international support merely because silence is uncomfortable. She later checks that the four-date pilot still leaves other offices owning their own fields. In Ch.364 Thomas invites her to the 30 October wedding; she accepts and attends, meeting Isha's other friends/colleagues in the small room. Mai's grant/loan outcome remains an office process, not Thomas's personal rescue. Ch.413-415 confirms that the April working-group workload reduction is real: Mori keeps ordinary work off Thomas's allocation while the group meets and later notices when he stops terminology work for the day.
Endo Older male student-services authority on Thomas's interview panel. Explains the fixed-term role, asks how Thomas handles rules he cannot change, later provides his staff card and adds birthday advice about not answering messages after work hours. Knows which rules can bend but expects staff to identify a proper reason (Ch.220-221, Ch.229). In Ch.243 he identifies the departmental administrator with prior compassionate-absence experience, helping remove an institutional obstacle without advising Mai's family decision.
Sugiyama Younger female international-support colleague working directly with overseas students. She shares responsibility for guidance/casework, tends the office plant and notices skipped meals. During Mai's case she contacts the graduate school and helps reduce institutional volume. Ch.308 makes her desk the practical test for Thomas's winter-arrival guide. In the summer four-date pilot she shares current arrival work and dryly recognises the danger when another office sends Thomas a correct date that still belongs in its own field. Thomas invites her to the 30 October wedding in Ch.364; she accepts and attends. Her wedding-table conversation with Miyake about book/paper repair is a new social connection, not a pre-existing friendship. In Ch.413-415 she helps enforce the new working-group boundary socially, notices Thomas looking for hidden work and later approves when he identifies terminology collisions instead of rewriting source-office text.
Mai Vietnamese master's student whose mother's surgery, scholarship, research delays and funding gap form a long but now bounded office arc. A four-day extension and conditional scholarship cannot erase the lost research time. Later, an ¥80,000 one-time hardship grant and a ¥40,000 interest-free emergency loan provide the minimum useful bridge while she keeps a realistic research plan. The immediate crisis closes without proving her family decision right or wrong; any future appearance should be an ordinary later consequence or new need, not repetition. Surname and exact course remain unestablished.
Samira Rahman Engineering exchange student in Ch.264 whose leaking sports drink damages an emergency-support application packet. Thomas helps separate reprintable records, surviving facts, a rewritten personal statement and the damaged original supervisor signature. A direct faculty verification allows a temporary scan before Monday, with a replacement original due within ten working days. Her family support has fallen after flood damage to her parents' business. The case shows routine competence rather than a new crisis; surname and faculty are established, nationality is not.
Amina Engineering-laboratory exchange student whose January 2028 start-of-term orientation and mandatory laboratory safety induction are scheduled for the same 09:30 slot. Thomas refuses to guess which “required” event outranks the other. The faculty and programme offices eventually agree she should attend the safety induction and receive a make-up orientation; an automatic absence warning is later corrected by the owning programme office. The case is a current example of Thomas coordinating without assuming another office's authority.
Named alumni contacts Ch.224 establishes several bounded alumni contacts useful for back-references but not current close cast: Okabe Jun, male organiser of the gathering, logistics-company worker and procedural worrier whose concern/beer/curiosity briefly produce intrusive memory questions; Nao Kitamura, female photographer, part-time design-studio worker and freelance photographer, observant enough to send images that show Thomas and Isha receiving memories without claiming them; Sasaki, quiet male private-language-school teacher; Shibata, female former student who borrowed Thomas's lecture notes; Fujita, male alumnus who remembers the ski-trip ankle/bag story and learns not to press memory recovery. Do not inflate them into close friends without new prose.

Ishikawa Female climbing-centre floor manager who interviews and trains Isha. Values safety, clear records and customer dignity; offers paid training, corrects over-commanding language and confirms that urgent authority should preserve a route back to cooperation. Ch.255-263 establish her professional trust. By summer 2027 she is part of Isha's conversion to indefinite short-hours regular employment with a guaranteed 24-hour week and expanded instruction/safety work, and supports formal first-aid training. In Ch.352 she records Isha's First Aid Provider certificate without treating it as medical authority. Ch.393/413 establish employer-supported Coach 1 for 22-23 April 2028. After completion, Ishikawa records the qualification, assigns one Wednesday beginner block with Yoshida nearby, later notes Horie/Kameda rebooked and makes clear that qualification broadens duties inside existing hours rather than creating management or a fourth shift. She attended the 30 October wedding.
Yoshida Cropped-haired female climbing-centre colleague in her late twenties, postgraduate researcher and community athletics participant. Notices Isha's reaction speed, invites her to an open track session and supports Mina's frightened descent/return. She has a more conversational coaching style than Isha and remains Sakai's preferred fit. In Ch.436 she provides nearby floor coverage during Isha's first post-course beginner block without taking it over; Ch.440 keeps her as ordinary colleague through equipment work, humour and shift handover.
Nakamura Compact woman in her forties, faded black belt and adult-beginner judo instructor. Ethical, exact and unimpressed by raw capability without safe specialist knowledge. Separates Thomas and Isha for training, teaches safe falling and partner responsibility, narrowly defeats Isha through judo sequencing and groundwork, then moves her into supervised intermediate practice while retaining fundamentals (Ch.217, Ch.220-221).
Sato Green-belt woman, slightly shorter and heavier through the hips than Isha; first regular judo partner. Gives honest cooperative resistance and helps Isha learn timing, safe falling and partner-readable technique.
Tanabe Broad man in his late fifties, greying hair and white-belt beginner with some familiarity. Thomas's recurring judo partner; dry, practical and insistent that being new requires neither apology nor theatrical praise. In Ch.257 Thomas finally catches one moving step for a clean de-ashi-barai; Tanabe immediately helps return the achievement to ordinary practice by throwing him on the next attempt and continuing through simpler failures.
Abe Male intermediate judo participant and civil engineer in his forties who repeatedly traps Isha in groundwork by allowing her to believe she has created space. In Ch.260 he notices that Isha protects herself correctly in the wrong sport, asks about striking and refers her to Shibata Kenji's mixed martial arts gym because she continually finds the edges of judo's rules. Specialist resistance and practical referral, not rival or romantic complication.
Shibata Kenji (MMA coach) Male coach in his early forties, compact and thick through the torso, with an old grappler's folded ear and minor facial scars. He distinguishes Isha as a beginner at modern MMA rather than fighting, enforces partner-readable scope and immediate release on taps. He prepares the Morita bout candidly, corners Isha with Arai, then reviews the unedited footage without forcing a second event. During Graves recovery he excludes hard contact and later permits bounded technical return. In Ch.364 he offers a possible second amateur bout for 11 December 2027 against Naruse Kana; the final review succeeds and Ch.376 records the bout. Naruse clearly takes round one, round two is close and the officials give Naruse the decision. Shibata's Monday video review confirms that shape and leaves the result intact; he does not manufacture an immediate third-bout progression. Distinct from the female alumni contact also surnamed Shibata.
Naruse Kana Isha's second regulated novice-MMA opponent. Twenty-seven, about 176 cm / 76 kg, orthodox, boxing background followed by no-gi/mixed training, with two prior novice MMA decisions before Isha. On 11 December 2027 she uses cleaner boxing entries/exits and movement to win the first round clearly; Isha adapts and makes round two close, but Naruse wins the two-round decision. Both women stand afterward and are well; Naruse is a respected opponent, not a recurring rival or proof-device.
Arai Compact woman around thirty with kickboxing and mixed-training experience; Isha's first regular MMA partner and early gym friend. She helps corner Isha against Morita, continues honest pad/clinch work after remission and corrects excessive force without turning it into moral drama. She has one prior amateur beginner bout lost by decision and may compete again.
Morita Ayaka Isha's first regulated novice MMA opponent: twenty-eight, 174 cm, about 75.6 kg, southpaw, with high-school judo, one novice kickboxing decision loss, limited no-gi competition and eighteen months of mixed training. Her modern sport structure, wall pressure and competition composure win the first round. Isha adapts and wins the second by rear choke, releasing immediately on Morita's three-tap signal. Both women stand afterward and later review confirms the bout belonged to both. Morita is a respected former opponent, not a recurring rival.
Mizuno Reina Broad-backed woman in her early thirties with the most grappling experience in Isha's class and four amateur bouts. She repeatedly exposes modern ground structures, submissions and positional patience. After Isha's remission she supplies light positional work, catches an arm, receives an immediate tap and remains a serious training partner rather than a prop.
Hoshino Emi Very small, compact woman in a grey rashguard with dangerous leg dexterity and specialist guard attacks. In Ch.262 she catches Isha in an omoplata shoulder lock, then forces slower, more technical passing. Her size should not be treated as weakness; she is dryly amused when Isha becomes harder to trap.
Kurata Heavier male intermediate grappler in his late thirties with a soft brace on the left knee. In Ch.262 he supplies wall pressure and strength without asking Isha to pretend he is harmless. Isha protects the disclosed knee while still reversing and submitting him legally.
Hasegawa Lean female athletics coach in her fifties. Prioritises injury prevention, repeatable mechanics and desire over spectacle. She times Isha at 12.72 seconds in Ch.223, later teaches untimed relaxed running, and in Ch.324 records 12.38 seconds with legal wind after improved acceleration. She permits one maximal run, then ends the test and supports occasional sprinting without making Isha a sprinter.
Fujisaki Tomoko Kyūdō instructor introduced in Ch.305. Formal, observant and unwilling to let Isha's broad archery experience bypass kyūdō's sequence, timing or group line. She accelerates Isha safely from rubber bow/makiwara to twenty-eight metres, enforces medical limits during Graves treatment and treats stopping at the prescribed volume as part of judgement.
Kobayashi Fellow kyūdō learner who greets Isha on return and shares the ordinary difficulty of moving from makiwara to twenty-eight metres. Hamano and Ishii are other early learners; Sasaki and Ōno appear in the established group line. Their ages and wider lives remain unestablished.
Nakahara (archery supervisor) Compact man in his sixties at the municipal indoor recurve range, distinct from the apartment's Nakahara household unless later prose establishes otherwise. Handles equipment/safety, supports Thomas's beginner draw weights and lets Isha teach without surrendering venue authority.
Takeda Climbing-centre duty manager during Isha's medical return. Uses the specialist note, pulse-recovery checks and one-route limits without making the return a spectacle. Exact role beyond duty management remains unestablished.
Sato (climbing-centre colleague) Climbing-centre colleague who belays Isha's first return demonstration and shares a two-person floor-mat move. Distinct from the judo partner also surnamed Sato unless later prose establishes otherwise.
Mina and her father Mina is a roughly nine-year-old beginner climber who freezes on a higher route and clearly asks to come down. Her father initially adds repeated instructions and pressures her to continue, then accepts Isha/Yoshida's boundary, supports a low traverse without directing every move, returns to apologise and books another session beginning with the “sideways wall” (Ch.234). Ch.239 confirms the return works quietly: Mina completes three sideways routes while her father limits himself to one instruction at a time and asks before offering another. They may recur only if the story explores trust after correction, not to repeat the same lesson.
Fujita Haruna Woman in her mid-thirties who returns to the climbing centre after a first corporate-group visit in which several kind people kept encouraging her after she no longer wanted to continue. In Ch.263 she books a quiet equipment appointment, chooses each contact, loosely wears an unattached harness, declines a rope and leaves before the booked time ends. Her second equipment-only appointment occurs in Ch.271 and remains bounded by her own requested size rather than conventional climbing progress. She explicitly requests no encouragement. Distinct from the male alumnus surnamed Fujita in Ch.224.
Nishimura Adult climbing-centre customer, short hair/red glasses, first seen in a December beginner session and then specifically requests Isha for a January follow-up. In Ch.386 Isha's first demonstration fails because her height bypasses Nishimura's geometry; Isha admits it and coaches balance/feet instead. In Ch.440 Nishimura asks one question on a pale-green problem; Isha watches once, suggests turning the left knee inward and the foot stays. Nishimura calls the correction useful and returns to the route. She remains a capable recurring customer, not proof that only Isha can coach her.
Sakai Adult beginner climber in her early forties who asks to change away from Isha in Ch.392 because Isha's very still, close observation makes her feel examined. Yoshida's conversational style works better. In Ch.440 Sakai again asks for Yoshida if free; Isha arranges it without negotiation and keeps walking later when she sees the session going well. Not a complaint/rival thread; she demonstrates durable coach/customer fit.
Horie and Kameda Two office colleagues in their thirties and first-time climbing-centre visitors in Ch.440. Horie is shorter/compact and wants to reach the top of a small route; Kameda is taller, cautious about equipment and prefers movement problems to height. Isha gives each limited practical coaching. They book another beginner session for the following month but do not specifically request Isha. Given names, company and wider relationship remain unestablished.

Shops / Local Contacts / Travel

Morishita Female geologist, perhaps in her fifties, short greying hair and rectangular glasses, working at the unnamed Sendai mineralogical/material-description firm. She reviews Isha's photographs/reports and leads the 29 March 2028 non-destructive examination of the large gold/quartz specimen. Precise and limitation-minded: distinguishes visible mineral relationships from provenance, declines to invent a locality/age, explains hydrothermal fracture filling/deformation as a bounded interpretation, recommends preservation and does not run optional XRF merely because the instrument exists. Her written report arrives 13 April. She remains uninformed about the specimen's other-world origin.
Okabe (Small Works coordinator) Compact woman in a navy cardigan who coordinates the 25 March 2028 Small Works Weekend municipal-room event. Keeps setup/break cover and optional maker conversation low-pressure, does not congratulate Kanno for merely choosing to participate, and forwards later visitor interest without turning it into a career intervention. Distinct from male alumnus Okabe Jun.
Fujimoto Female department-store sales assistant who helps Isha choose interview and alumni clothing (Ch.219). Professional, tactful and movement-aware: she reads the invitation in Isha's bag, accepts practical rejections immediately, treats fit, movement and the wearer's attention as more important than simply looking impressive, and provides the dark-blue dress later worn at the alumni gathering (Ch.224).
Nagai Hired photographer for Thomas and Isha's 30 October wedding, chosen because her small-wedding work catches people and unscripted interaction rather than rigid posing. She agrees to one formal group photograph, ten private minutes with the couple, ceremony/meal coverage and no conscription of Kanno. An eighteen-frame preview arrives on 31 October; the full edited gallery arrives on 27 November 2027. Thomas/Isha keep the full digital archive/backups, make guest/couple selections and display a laughing courtyard frame; the different courtyard image sent to the fantasy-side circle remains separately significant. Given name/business remain unestablished.
Nagase Tattoo artist who conducts Isha's consultation and Ch.284 session in an unnamed private studio. Professional, exact and unawed by pain tolerance: repositions the stencil until the three lines sit correctly with Isha's arm raised or lowered, opens sterile equipment, permits a requested break and gives ordinary film/washing/sun/friction aftercare. Keeps only a consented arm-only work photograph and specifically warns against experimental cleaning products. Given name and studio name remain unestablished.
Sakamoto Woman in her sixties who drives for and helps run the Miyato Island minshuku (Ch.221-222, Ch.370). Gives practical trail, heat/season, sea and swim warnings, arranges luggage transfer to Aomina and treats the island as an inhabited place rather than only a resort. She recognises Thomas and Isha when they return for their 6-7 November 2027 honeymoon, congratulates them, gives them the requested same room because it is available, moves breakfast to 08:00, supplies small congratulations sweets/dish and again helps with the shorter Otakamori day. Her husband reappears serving dinner and remembers his crisp-fish-skin advice; he remains unnamed.

Post-Ch.423 Merrowford Additions

Character/group Notes
Orven Pell Stocky smallholder a little under an hour north of Merrowford, introduced in Ch.432. Reports three nights of grain-shed damage, preserves the tracks after Guild advice and accepts Ian/Lethira's badger identification. He chooses barrels, spill removal and a reinforced wall base rather than killing an established sett. He is a distinct person from the historical Pell of the Greyfin; no close relationship is established, so treat them as unrelated or at most distantly related and do not invent a family connection. Pell is Orven's family name in current prose.
Merren Vale Lean, grey-haired independent rural-building inspector carrying a leather case and short ladder. He is not tied to repair firms. In Ch.432 he finds bounded roof/chimney/mortar/sill work but no major visible structural defect; the old outbuilding footing may be reusable. His written note arrives in Ch.437 and matches the verbal inspection, allowing the purchase to complete. Vale is his family name and does not collide with Vaeloren/Veyr/Varr.
Merrowford civic land-record staff Unnamed clerks collectively establish unmarried joint ownership, equal-interest defaults, identity evidence, inheritance cautions and final-transfer procedure. The middle-aged clerk with polished lenses recurs across the property/identity visits but remains unnamed in direct prose; do not assign her a personal name in narrative without later prose.
Western property intermediary and seller Both remain unnamed. The grey-haired intermediary handles viewing, offer, inspection, title/access checks, witnessed signatures/payment and registry seal. The seller, who moved into town with her sister, signs and hands over the iron key in Ch.437. The transfer completes to Ian/Lethira in equal interest. Do not conflate either woman with Caswick, Brannock or the civic clerk.

Hospital / Recovery

Hospital doctors, nurses and paramedics Treat the recorded road accident, coma and memory disturbance through ordinary medicine. In Ch.278 paramedics respond after Thomas lacks meaningful stable waking at five minutes; emergency tests find no acute cause. Ch.298's non-urgent neurology review remains reassuring and ends routine follow-up unless symptoms recur. No recurring individual is named; none suspects magic or another world.
Physiotherapy / follow-up clinic staff Document Isha's exceptional but human balance, grip, reactions and endurance, and Thomas's ordinary recovery. After Ch.278 a clinic repeats a normal examination, reviews the reassuring hospital record, permits work if symptoms do not recur and arranges non-urgent neurology review because shorter episodes happened before. No continuing named clinician is established.
Unnamed endocrinologist / clinic staff Diagnose Isha's mild Graves-like hyperthyroidism, prescribe and reduce thiamazole, interpret rapid hormone/antibody/ultrasound improvement, stop medication and continue monitoring after remission. They call the course unusually favourable but medically possible. They do not know the System messages or believe the body is non-human.

Apartment Building and Neighbourhood

Yoshimura Female, late fifties, short hair, lives alone in 105, works irregular hours for a local insurance office and has lived in the building for eleven years. Organises the residents' committee because she is capable and failed to avoid responsibility; practical, brisk and responsible for outage/maintenance coordination. She checks vulnerable residents, maintains lists and knows when to hand technical work to management. She cannot allocate flats or substitute the committee for landlord screening. During the Akiyama and Thomas/Isha moves she manages notices, lift access, wall protection, routes and helpers without turning procedural authority into ownership (Ch.227-233, Ch.238). In Ch.244 she coordinates the year-end common-area cleaning. In Ch.259 she handles the roof-terrace closure and contractor paperwork after a parapet seal opens and the eastern drain slows, while leaving technical explanation to the contractor. Given name remains unestablished.
Saitō Fumiko Promoted to characters.md after becoming Thomas's recurring cooking mentor and a major household/neighbourhood relationship. See characters.md; her 203 occupancy remains in the building register in earth.md.
Miyake Natsumi Woman in her late thirties living in 204 for six years; straight dark hair cut below the jaw, reading glasses and a dry, practical manner. Works irregular shifts at a public library, while book and album repair is a private hobby rather than her formal department. A parcel misdelivered to 202 in Ch.257 introduces her press/worktable/books. Thomas and Isha ask her in person in Ch.362 after holding 30 October; she is surprised to be wanted at the very small ceremony rather than only a later building meal, accepts, and attends. She helps Saitō with the wedding taxi/entrance route and later discovers an easy paper-repair conversation with Sugiyama. In Ch.396 she returns a climbing-photo book after repairing its separating hinge with an intentionally visible structural repair. Kanno asks about albums/photograph mounting: Miyake prioritises what the object still needs to do, uses removable corners/interleaving/guarded or hinged pages where useful, accepts visible new repair material and refuses fake-ageing new material to imitate old. She invites Kanno to see her repaired/ordinary albums later. Kanno does not show or identify the Venus photographs; Miyake remains uninformed about Green Road, magic and Ian.
Arakawa Shigeru Seventy-four-year-old male resident of 305; widower and retired railway-maintenance worker. Broad-handed and slightly stooped; his daughter lives near Yokohama and calls every Sunday, though his tablet often defeats him. Values durable tools, notebooks over app changes, drainage, safe footing and practical maintenance. Former same-floor neighbour of Thomas and Isha before their move to 202; helps with outage/maintenance work and both moves. In Ch.244 he brings his own drain tool and tells Thomas that cleaning is not permission to adopt the building. In Ch.259 he watches the roof contractor replace the eastern drain grille and tells Thomas that the inspection has given him enough information to begin wondering correctly, not enough to perform repairs.
Fujii Masato Sixty-eight-year-old male resident of 302; unmarried retired municipal middle-school science teacher living alone. Methodical, wears ironed shirts even for rubbish, brings data and measurement to committee work and outage preparation, and notices physical qualities with science-teacher precision rather than flirtation. Helps label and route the Ch.238 move, photographs utility readings twice and continues treating household administration as a measurable problem. In Ch.244 he cleans mailboxes, corrects Thomas's cold-weather glass method and measures a planter stand's six-millimetre settlement until Yoshimura bounds the observation as a maintenance note. Ch.228's provisional 202 placement is superseded by later 302/building-register continuity (Ch.228-233, Ch.235, Ch.238).

Akiyama family Former occupants of 202: adult father, adult mother and young son in a yellow cap; given names remain open. They complete a positive move to a small house near the boy's maternal grandparents and next school, with a persimmon tree, garden, field on the school route and a fence gap his father promises to repair. The boy says goodbye to Mugi by describing the new house and leaving his faded blue cloth mouse; Mugi later carries it to Thomas and Isha's balcony. Their departure removes the building's only resident child and opens 202 for Thomas and Isha. Future appearances should be occasional visits or updates, not continued residency (Ch.232-233).
102 couple Unnamed resident couple on the ground floor. They contribute cooked rice during the outage. Sexes, ages, occupations and relationship form beyond co-residence as a couple remain unestablished.
401 university student Unnamed university student; sex, age, course and any co-residents remain unestablished. Arrives late to maintenance, contributes food during the outage, follows older residents' practical direction and later carries many boxes/houseplant during Thomas and Isha's move. In Ch.244 the student shares the awkward storage-shelf carry with Isha rather than being displaced by her greater strength.

She finds Lethira's archive, records Ian Kirk as an unranked aide, issues the current B tag, records sheep/badger work and arranges the Ch.439 assessment. She accepts Garran Holt's pass and removes the local restriction while leaving Ian unranked. Brannock is the established family name; given name unestablished.
Garran Holt Human senior Guild field assessor in his late fifties, broad-shouldered, greying, with practical used equipment. He assesses current practice rather than old reputation, corrects Lethira once for ranging ahead without communication, then passes her B-level tracking, judgement and engagement. He calls her Elven movement annoying. Wider career/home remain unestablished.
Halren Torve Human sheep keeper on the north-eastern Merrowford farming belt. He posts the E-rank missing-livestock contract after two sheep vanish and a third returns with a frayed tether. He accepts Lethira's corrections about the low hedge, feeds Moss and tentatively allows the dog into the field. No permanent ownership decision is made on page.
Yessa Fenlow Older neighbouring sheep keeper with two working dogs. She knew the late Marek, shared lambing watch with him and had fed Moss after Marek's death until the dog stopped coming. She identifies Moss by appearance/collar wear/old collar, demonstrates Marek's whistles and cannot take him because she already keeps two dogs.
Marek Durn Deceased local shepherd and Moss's former person. He dies of winter fever before Ch.422; his daughter sells the flock and tries twice to take Moss, but Moss returns to the old field. The daughter's name and later household remain unestablished.
Moss Large rough-coated trained sheepdog, dark grey-brown/pale patched coat with one upright ear and one partly folded. Underfed after losing Marek and the flock, he chews/frays tethers, moves two of Halren's sheep to an abandoned shelter and guards/herds them rather than attacking them. Yessa identifies him; by the chapter end he has entered Halren's field for food and resumed working the flock, but his long-term home remains a decision for the local people rather than a completed adoption. Do not confuse this dog with the deceased prisoner named Moss in Ch.204.

Da Nang harassers and local police Two unnamed local men harass tourists often enough to be known to police, though prior proof has been insufficient. At a quiet off-tourist bar one insults Thomas and attempts to punch him; Isha catches the fist. Both follow the couple into a camera-poor lane and are disabled by controlled force, including one being lifted and thrown, without lethal neck attacks or stomps. Police find their claim that one foreign woman caused all injuries implausible, are already tired of their excuses and release Thomas and Isha quickly. No camera records the fight, no charge or travel restriction follows and the thread is closed rather than a second long legal arc.
Sendai Station witnesses, prosecutor and police Unnamed station staff, a woman near the lockers, a man by the benches and police document the Ch.226 harassment incident. A calm, direct female officer in her forties handles the initial account, distinguishes what Isha saw from what she inferred, asks necessary but uncomfortable contact questions, and later reports the outcome (Ch.226, Ch.236). A prosecutor interviews Isha in Ch.229 about the restraint and controlled fall; no trial decision is made then. The man who grabbed Isha later admits it after seeing footage and receives a fine through summary procedure; the second man is not separately charged, though evidence shows obstruction/encouragement. Both are instructed not to contact Isha. The thread is procedurally closed unless the written notice creates an unexpected issue. No one infers fantasy training or magic.
